I like this a lot. I have to say I disagree with the first commenter; your choice of color and the resultant emotions that those colors may express are entirely up to you. I happen to think that the color scheme works nicely. I also don't think there's anything wrong with presenting the image as if it were a photo instead of actually in front of the viewer's eyes. Again, that's an artistic choice that has no "right" answer. I do think that you could have developed the depth of field effect a bit more by adding layers of asteroids at different distances with different degrees of blur, but in general I like the use of the effect to help simulate depth.

My only gripe is that the foreground asteroids are lit by a blue light, but the rest of the asteroids seem to be reflecting red light. Otherwise I like your composition and subject (I love millions of asteroids).

Good work!

Ya I wouldnt say that this one is executed well...example blue asteroids, I also really like the colors though and i wanna make a major revision of this one, I like developing the depth of field more thats a good idea, definitely gonna pay attention to those things you pointed out thanks for the comment :D

Very nicely done! Very interesting atmosphere in this piece.

What process did you use to create the Asteroids? (programs, techniques?)

3ds max followed this for basics [link] and then just set up a camera and light and made 3 different asteroids and kept cloning them till i had a full field :D

Thanks for the link :D

Unfortunately, I'm not much good with 3-d programs. I do have one basic free program called Anim8or, but it's pretty limited. haha
